One district one product (ODOP)
In Pak Mi Village, Sanakham District, Vientiane Province bananas are a popular district-based product. From 2000 onward, local people have been working in family groups, developing banana-based products with training provided by the Department of Agriculture Extension and Cooperative. The local people then organized a production and sales group for tourists and homestay guests. The Department of Trade Promotion has awarded the village “one district one product” certification.
