For the plains areas of Laos, it would be useful to focus on bananas as an economic crop. Bananas are economically viable and can be processed into many products. Traditional banana cultivation on family farms is sustainable and compatible with the green development plan. Industrial-scale intensive production with foreign investment, especially from China, has caused chemical contamination and has an impact on the environment, leading to degradation of farmland and loss of biodiversity.
