Botanical Description

It is a small to medium sized, cool to hot growing, monopodial orchid with a stout, many leafed stem, carrying lingulate, distichous, curved, bi-lobed apically leaves that is deeply channeled and keeled and blooms on a rarely branched, 30 cm long, pendulous, many to 50 flowered inflorescence with waxy, fragrant flowers. Blooms in May to July

Description of Use

Its rhizomes are dug out or pulled away from the bark of a host dry dipterocarp tree. Leaves are ground to obtain a fine powder. This powder is deep fried and mixed with sugar and water to obtain a sweet paste. General tonic and as blood purifier. Price per Plant 20 000-50 000 kip in bloom
