The Lao people who are located along the river, they have many tool varieties to catch fish. Mostly, it made from bamboo, the shapes are widely and depend on the purpose of catching fish. According to evidence from paintings and literature, these tools have been in existence for many years. The fishing tool that are made of bamboo are mainly related to catching aquatic animals along the river, rice fields and so on. Due to the different local areas, the tools also have different names but we can see these sort of fishing tools in Laos. Such as frog trap and even fishhook holder and basket holder still made from bamboo.
