Botanical Description

Rhizomatous herb, 0.7-1.8 m tall. leaves 20-27, linear, 12-18 x 1-1.5 cm, apex acuminate, base attenuate, margin entire. Petiole sessile. Inflorescence arising from the rhizome, erect, spike narrowly elliptic to oblong, 1o-15 x 2-3 cm, glabrous with white power. Peduncles erect, 10-30 cm tall. Bracts oblong to obovate, 3.5 cm long, glabrous, green to red when fruiting. Bracteoles oblong 3.8-4 cm long. Flower yellow. Calyx tube 1 cm long, apex split one deep. Corolla tube 3 cm long, corolla lobes elliptic to lanceolate, 2.3-3 cm. Labellum broadly oblong or orbiculate, 1.3-1.6 x 1.6-2 cm, apex emarginate, lateral staminode ovate. Anthers crest 1.3-1.5 cm long. Ovary 6 mm long. Fruits ellipsoid, dry dehiscent.

Description of Use

Plants are using for ornamental. Young shoots and inflorescences are using for edible, cooking with chili and dry fish.
