Botanical Description

Tree to 45 m tall and 1.5 m dbh with broad obconical crown. Bark gray–brown, irregular to longitudinally fissured. Needles 5 in fascicles, 5–8(10) cm long. Pollen cones dull yellow, ovoid, clustering at branchlet apex. Seed cone brown, cylindric, (5.5)6–10(12) cm long, (2.5)3–4(6) cm in diam., with (20)30–50(70) normally developed scales. Seeds ovate, brown, winged. Pollination April–May, seeds October–December
