Botanical Description

Monopodial specie with curved, strap-shaped, fleshy leaves that blooms on an axillary, stout, to 40 cm long, racemose, erect, many flowered inflorescence with vaguely fragrant, long-lasting, very thick textured flowers occurring in the spring and summer.

Occurrence in Region: China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos and Vietnam.
Occurrence in nature (ecology and ecosystem): Rare, near extinction. A giant sized, hot to warm growing, monopodial, epiphytic sometimes lithophyte species occurring on open mossy rocks and bluffs in evergreen and semi-deciduous forests at elevations around 300 to 1100 meters.
