Conserve forest and oak species for hosting of this species. Some 40% of the Province is covered by forests of which most are categorized as District and Provincial Protection and Conservation Forests and it is from these un−disturbed and higher altitude forests the Matsutake mushrooms are picked. (Pedersen & Phannorath, 2016).
