The stem is about 0.5-0.8 mm in diameter and 40 cm long; inflorescence
with 15-20 flowers up to 15 cm long; flower pink and white, 1-2 cm wide. Widely distributed over the country. In high demand, priced $0.5 per plant. Slow growing when propagated in gardens.
Its rhizomes are dug out or pulled away from the bark of a host dry
dipterocarp tree.
