Phakhao Lao joined the startup workshop for the Agriculture for Nutrition project - Phase II (AFN II)

On September 7-8, 2023, Phakhao Lao joined the startup workshop for the Agriculture for Nutrition project - Phase II (AFN II) project funded by the World Food Programme (WFP), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the Government of the Lao PDR. The workshop, which brought together more than 200 participants, took place at Don Chan Palace in Vientiane.

In collaboration with NAFRI, the Phakhao Lao team at the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) will provide a knowledge base on local food sources and wild food management to the partners and beneficiaries of the AFN II. For that purpose, NAFRI and CDE will mobilise the Phakhao Lao agrobiodiversity resource platform (www.phakhaolao.la), which aims to centralize the vast repository of written and oral knowledge within the country. This platform will facilitate easy access for students, researchers, development professionals, decision-makers, local communities, and the private sector.
