Dendrobium tortile var. hildebrandtii (Rolfe) Tang & F.T.Wang
Slender, fleshy, becoming pendulous with age pseudobulbs carrying leathery, lanceolate, pointed, eventually deciduous leaves and blooms in the winter through early summer on a short inflorescence that arises on a mature leafless cane towards the apex with 2 flowers that are fragrant and long-lived.
Occurrence in Region Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
Occurrence in nature (ecology and ecosystem) Found at elevations of 200 to 1200 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte in open forest on the top of the tall trees.
Infusion by fresh or drying stem sliced. Price 15,000-25,000 kip per kg fresh.
