Stems are tall with alternating, lanceolate, auminate leaves, appears to be bamboo, as a giant sized, hot to cool growing, polypodial and blooms throughout the year on a terminal, 8 cm long, simple or branched, bracteates inflorescence that carries 2 to 6, fragrant, Cattleya-like flowers, one at a time, that are short-lasting yet successive so the bloom time is extended. They like high light and warm climate.
Distribution to India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos
Terrestrial / Lithophyte orchid occurring at elevations of sea-level to 1200 meters near stream in rain forest and mangrove forest. Arundina readily propagate themselves by keikis, which frequently develop along the pseudobulbs.
