Laos is a country full of varies types of rice especially, Little Chicken Rice.
According to the research at the current, we can find 8 types of Little chicken such as Red Little Chicken Rice, Minor Little chicken Rice, Red Annular Little Chicken, Red Big Seed Little Chicken Rice, Yellow Little chicken Rice, Dark Line Little Chicken Rice, Line Little Chicken Rice, and Wart Little Chicken Rice.

• Dark Line Little Chicken Rice is considered by far tastiest because of fragrant and sweet taste.  However, the area of Dark Line Little Chicken Rice growth has only 3% of all total Little Chicken Rice growing area.
• People are favorite to grow Yellow little Chicken Rice more than others because of its produce and quality.

There are specific points in Little Chicken Rice such as smell, taste and growing area.
It has sweet taste, soft and fragrant. Serving with cold weather in the Winter is the best.

Due to growing Little Chicken Rice depends on conditions on natural and geography, the good quality of Little Chicken has been provided in Xienkhouang and Hua Phan Province which has been registered as a GI.

• There are many districts in Xiengkhouang which provide good quality of rice such as Paek District, Phaxai District, Phoukoud District.
• Hua Phan, Little Chicken Rice is grown in general follow by natural conditions. Yellow Little Chicken Rice covered 67% of all total growing rice area in Hua Phan Province.

Growing little chicken rice is related to the custom in Xiengkhouang Province, considered as one of the heritage that has been handled since the past until the present. It is used for weddings, Basi Ceremony, and festivals.
Each year after harvest, there will be Little Chicken Rice Festival as a custom.
