Khao Tom Moo, traditional dish in Laos.

Ingredients

  • Sticky rice 5 kg

  • Yellow bean 1 kg

  • Pork 1 kg

  • Onion 1 kg

  • Red shllot 1 kg

  • Soy sauce 1 small cup

  • salt 1 table spoons

  • Sugar 1 small cup

Method

  • First, soak yellow bean and rice for 4 hours
  • Then, Strain water from bean and rice
  • Heat stream pot, stream bean for 40-60 minutes. then leave it cool

steps of prepare pork:

  • Chopped 1 red shallot. Then, Fried with pork. leave it cool

Step of prepare sauce of Khao Tom:

  • Mix bean with pork (1/2 of prepared), adjust with sugar 8 table spoons and soy sauce 2 table spoons
  • Make shape long circle

Step of prepare rice:

  • Make sure to strain all of water from the rice
  • Mix rice with pork (1/2 of prepared), Chopped onion and adjust with sugar 10 table spoons, soy sauce 10 table spoons, salt 1 table spoon

Step of wrapping

  • Prepare banana leaf as 4x4 size, and bamboo (Thin 0,5 cm and long for 60 cm)
  • Use the 2 pieces of banana leave for wrapping (detail can watch on video above)
  • Put 2 table of mixed rice and a circle of mixed bean (This for a wrapping), then wrapping 
  • After wrapping, heat the pot for boiling (boil at least 5 hours)
