A resident of Xaythany district in Vientiane, Mrs Keomany, has been raising chickens to sell eggs to customers in Vientiane for 10 years. She said she was very proud and happy that she took this opportunity because she earns at least 4 million kip to 5 million kip a month for her family, while her husband also works in the fields to add to their overall income. She said the chickens in her farm produce 130 trays of eggs a day, and each tray contains 30 eggs. She can sell each tray for 18,000 kip to 20,000kip. Luckily, she doesn’t have to do any marketing for her eggs because many traders come directly to her farm to buy the eggs. Moreover, the dung from the chickens can be sold for making fertiliser.
